For Men's Health

The following disease-fighting tricks may look insignificant as most of people will say they have no time to do, but never dismiss them, because they'll make you healthier, slimmer and stronger.

Tea Off in the Morning
Hot tea can slash your risk of kidney cancer by 15 per cent. Try pu-erh tea, which is better than green or black tea at preventing DNA damage.
Sleep Smarter
Too much sleep, or not enough can kill you. A British study found that getting more than 9 hours of sack time a night, or less than 6, doubles your risk of an early death from any cause. Aim for 7 to 8 hours a night.
Pop in Your Lenses Post shower
Soaping up while wearing your contacts can expose your eyes to infection-causing waterborne microbes.
Drink Wine, Stay Lean
Polyphenols, the compounds found in red wine, help your body block fat absorption. Red-wine marinades work, too.
Check Your Neck
A mildly underactive thyroid can boost your heart-disease risk by 65 per cent. A quick blood test can assess your level of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH).
Lean Back
Parking your torso at a 90-degree angle strains your spine. Instead, give your chair the retreat treatment and recline the seat back slightly. The ideal angle is 45 degrees off vertical.
Scent Your Air Safely
Some air fresheners contain phthalates, compounds that may disrupt hormone processes. Stick with Febreze Air Effects.
Boost Your Defences
400 IU of vitamin D a day reduces your risk of an early death by 7 per cent.
Skip the Spray
Using household spray cleaners just once a week increases your risk of an asthma attack by 76 per cent, say Spanish researchers. Use wipes instead.
Steam Your Broccoli
Steaming broccoli increases its concentration of glucosinolates (compounds found to fight cancer) by 30 per cent. Boiling actually lowers the levels.
Stretch It OutGenes in your body linked to heart disease, diabetes, and obesity can be "turned on" if you sit for hours on end, reports a study in Diabetes. Hit the "off" button by taking hourly laps during TV, book, and Web sessions.

The Importance of Wearing Sunglasses

Vast majority of individuals already aware of the necessity to protect their skin, lips from the sun, but not so many people notice that it is equally critical to protect eyes. Eyes exposure to bright sunshine without protection will damage eyes. So the American Academy of Ophthalmology recommends to follow these tips in order to protect your eyes:

Choose sunglasses that block UV rays. Keep in mind that darker lenses do not necessarily mean that you will be getting more protection. And remember, that the ability to block UV radiation is not dependent on the price tag.

Make sure your sunglasses block between 97 per cent to 100 per cent of UV-A rays and UV-B rays.

Select sunglasses that are large enough to shield your eyes from all angles. Wrap-around lenses are the best. Ideally, the sunglasses should wrap all the way around to temples so the sun's rays cannot enter from the side.

Do not think that contact lenses could substitute sunglasses. Even if your contacts provide UV protection, still you need to wear sunglasses.

Do not be tricked by clouds. The harmful rays can pass through haze and thin clouds. Sun damage to eyes can happen any time throughout the year.

Sunglasses should be worn whenever you leave your house. It is especially important to wear sunglasses in the early afternoon and at higher altitudes, where UV radiation is more intense.

Drink Juice

We all know eating and drinking healthily is the key to maintaining health and preventing illness. Homemade juice has such kind of effect, at the same time, it help cut costs as well as you could customize the taste by your like.

1. Purchase a manual or electric juice blender to make your fresh fruit juice. It can also separate the peel and seeds or core from the juice extracts. All of these modern juicers have one common goal, and that is to help the consumer save time and energy and to make delicious and relatively inexpensive homemade fruit juices for family and friends to enjoy.

2. Buy fresh, organic fruits to make the juices. Your local farmers market and whole food stores are the best places to buy these items, and buying in bulk can cut down on cost. You can make bulk amounts of juice at one time and store in the freezer for drinking later or to have whenever you need a fresh juice fix.

3. The most popular fruit juices are: orange, lemon and apple, but there are other types of fruits that can also be made into juice such as papaya, mango and pineapple. Alternatively, you can be creative and mix the juices together to make an exotic blend. These are particularly great to mix in cocktails and a real delight to serve at parties or on a hot summer day.

4. Place the fresh fruits under cool, running water to rinse off dirt and debris. If you prefer a pulp-like consistency to your juice, keep the skin of the fruit on and slice into small pieces and place into the blender; otherwise, carefully peel off the skin, and if it has a center core, remove it along with any seeds.

5. Collect the juice extract from the juicer and pour into storage bottles for freezing or into tall glasses of ice for immediate drinking. Fresh fruit juices should not be left longer than one or two days in the fridge.

Benefits of Herbal Tea

Herbal teas are renowned for their benefits but what benefits do herbal teas actually have and why are they so advantageous to our health?
What is Herbal Tea?

Herbal tea looks like tea and is brewed in the same way as tea, but it not actually a tea at all.  This is because they do not come from the Camellia Sinensis bush, the plant from which all teas are made. Herbal teas are actually infusions, and are properly called tisanes. Tisanes are made from mixtures of dried leaves, seeds, grasses, nuts, barks, fruits, flowers, or other botanical elements that give them their taste and provide the benefits of herbal teas.
Unlike other forms of tea, herbal teas contain no caffeine. They also taste great and are easy to drink. Your herbal tea may consist of one main herbal ingredient or it may be a blend of herbal ingredients, designed to bring about a specific purpose, such as relaxation, rejuvenation, relief from a specific condition, among other things.

Get Brighter Smile

Have you recently inspected your smile in the mirror, only to discover that it's lost its pearly-white appeal? Here, top dentists reveal tips and tricks for brightening your teeth.

Don't Slack on Oral Care
Besides getting a professional cleaning every six months, brushing your teeth with a whitening toothpaste twice a day is the obvious first step toward achieving a brighter smile. Though they don't contain enough peroxide to actually whiten your teeth, whitening toothpastes are great at removing plaque and superficial stains.

Eat and Drink Wisely
Chewing sugar-free gum that contains plaque-reducing xylitol has the added benefit of promoting salivary flow, which will clean your teeth and break down any remaining food particles in the mouth. Eating crunchy fruits and vegetables to naturally exfoliate teeth. Fruits you shouldn't let remain on teeth: types like lemons, limes, and grapefruit that are high in citric acid.

Try An At-Home Teeth Whitener
Just as skin has pores, so do teeth. And once stains penetrate the surface layer, they can clog the pores of your not-so-pearly whites. If you're craving a whiter smile than what your regular teeth-cleansing routine gives, an over-the-counter whitener could be the solution. With peroxide concentrations ranging from seven to nine percent, at-home treatments go a step further than your average whitening toothpaste and mouthwash.

Get the Star Treatment
If your teeth aren't responding to over-the-counter whiteners as well as you'd hoped, pump up the peroxide and invest in a pro whitening treatment. A UV light is used to activate components within the whitening solution, which helps speed up the process.

9. Massage your nails to keep them extra strong and shiny. Nails buffing increases blood supply to the nail, which stimulates the matrix of the nail to grow.
10. Polish your nails, even if it's just with a clear coat, it protects your nails. If you prefer color, use a base coat, two thin coats of color, and a top coat. Color should last at least seven days but should be removed after 10 days.

However, research has shown that this type of routine is not the best habit to get into.We should know the importance of a healthy breakfast and how to eat healthy.

Less snack. Some teenagers choose to skip breakfast as a means to lose weight. However, skipping breakfast actually makes people more likely to snack throughout the day and eat a larger meal at lunch and dinner. As a result, skipping breakfast may cause weight gain by making them eat excessively later in the day. The Benefits to Living in the Suburb

The gentle breeze, and beautiful scenery, riding a bike in the sunset, what a moving thing, that is the common scene you could seen in suburb. That is more and more people choose to settle down in the suburb from the big city. Advantages are evident.

1. Clean Air. Families that live in the suburb could enjoy the clean air, which the crowded cities and industrial areas don't have. Sitting outside at night and being able to view the stars and moon in all their glory is clear evidence of the air quality in the suburb. Smog and air pollution always stay away from the suburb. Bright blue clouds and sun are able to be seen clearly.
2. Open Spaces. Life in the suburb means your home isn't packed on top of your neighbors. Families can spread out among their properties and give everyone some elbow room. Besides that, your children have room to run, play, jump and be kids without worry of treading through the neighbor's yard or flowers. For those people who love gardening, the space of living in the suburb allows them to get creative with the size of their garden and what to include.
3. Healthier Pregnancies. A pregnant woman who lives in the city is more apt to go into premature labor than a pregnant woman living in the suburb. Exposure to air pollution produced by car and truck emissions may trigger preterm labor. The loud noise of city traffic that prevents a pregnant woman from sleeping well at night may also be a contributing factor.
4. Less Stress. Getting away from the loud obnoxious noises and the high crime rate. Living in the suburb you experience less stressful situations. The conveniences are excellent if you choose a town that has everything in it that meets your needs.

Not to Wear These to the Gym

The gym is a great place to workout, but it's also provide a great opportunity for people-watching and because there's so much flexibility with what you can wear. Basic fashion rules when it comes to exercising at the gym and following them will help you have more comfortable workouts while avoiding any double-takes as you walk by.

1. Men in Tights
The worst fashion disaster they see in the gym, all agreed that men dressed in spandex or Lycra tights came in at number one. Tights, while obviously comfortable and allowing for freedom of movement, tend to show things most of us don't want to know about. If you prefer tights, one option is to cover them with a pair of loose, lightweight shorts.
2. Exercising in Your Underwear
Being comfortable at the gym should be a priority, but without too comfortable. Remember that exercising in boxer shorts, bras or anything else that looks like underwear should be avoided and is most likely against your gym's rules.
3. Exercising With No Underwear
On the other hand, forgetting to wear underwear under your baggy shorts or short-shorts can also be uncomfortable for other gym-goers. This is especially true if you're stretching or doing yoga poses, which could give others an eye-full they may wish they hadn't gotten. Even if you're not a fan of underwear, make gym workouts an exception and make sure you're covered before heading out to the gym floor.
4. Skimpy Clothing
No one says you have to cover yourself from head to toe at the gym, but there is such a thing as exposing too much skin. Women wearing teeny, weeny sports bras or men wearing teeny, weeny shorts can be a distraction, and may be downright offensive to some gym-goers.
5. Blue Jeans and Work Clothes
Another fashion no-no is wearing every day clothes for your workout. Most gyms will probably show you the door if you're not wearing athletic clothes. Not only is it a fashion no-no, it makes for an uncomfortable, even unsafe workout. If you left your gym bag at home, now is a good time to go get it.
