The Best Perfumes for Work and Play

What's best for evening: Rose-and-jasmin-infused Chanel No. 5 Eau Première is still elegant, but it's lighter and fresher than the first, more of an everyday spritz.

What's right for work: Prada Infusion d'Iris, blends orange blossom, wet-smelling iris, mandarin, vetiver, and incense for a charming, light, bright scent.

What's right for weekends: Dior J'adore L'Absolu, is a delightfully intense version of the classic favorite, J'adore. Turkish rose, tuberose, and jasmine combine to make a truly pretty floral. Note: This is a highly concentrated formula, so a little goes a long way.

What's right for weekends: Marc Jacobs Daisy is free-spirited and sunny, with notes of violet leaves, wild strawberry, ruby-red grapefruit, and vanilla. Playful and sparkling, it feels effortless.

What's right for special occasions: Calvin Klein Euphoria Crystalline Edition, combines juicy pomegranate with black orchid, amber, black violet, and mahogany wood. A modernist head turner.

Get Brighter Smile

Have you recently inspected your smile in the mirror, only to discover that it's lost its pearly-white appeal? Here, top dentists reveal tips and tricks for brightening your teeth.

Don't Slack on Oral Care
Besides getting a professional cleaning every six months, brushing your teeth with a whitening toothpaste twice a day is the obvious first step toward achieving a brighter smile. Though they don't contain enough peroxide to actually whiten your teeth, whitening toothpastes are great at removing plaque and superficial stains.

Eat and Drink Wisely
Chewing sugar-free gum that contains plaque-reducing xylitol has the added benefit of promoting salivary flow, which will clean your teeth and break down any remaining food particles in the mouth. Eating crunchy fruits and vegetables to naturally exfoliate teeth. Fruits you shouldn't let remain on teeth: types like lemons, limes, and grapefruit that are high in citric acid.

Try An At-Home Teeth Whitener
Just as skin has pores, so do teeth. And once stains penetrate the surface layer, they can clog the pores of your not-so-pearly whites. If you're craving a whiter smile than what your regular teeth-cleansing routine gives, an over-the-counter whitener could be the solution. With peroxide concentrations ranging from seven to nine percent, at-home treatments go a step further than your average whitening toothpaste and mouthwash.

Get the Star Treatment
If your teeth aren't responding to over-the-counter whiteners as well as you'd hoped, pump up the peroxide and invest in a pro whitening treatment. A UV light is used to activate components within the whitening solution, which helps speed up the process.

To Protect Your Nails

Except for easier to pick up small things, provide us great convenience. They also signs of health, weak, like brittle nails signaling nutritional deficiency. So take great care of your 20 nails.

1. To keep your nails hydrated, rub a small amount of petroleum jelly into your cuticle and the skin surrounding your nails every evening before you go to bed or whenever your nails feel dry. Keep a jar anywhere you might need it. Substitute castor oil could also work.
2. Wear rubber gloves whenever you do housework or wash dishes. Most household chores are murderous on your nails. To protect your digits from dirt and harsh cleaners, wear gloves whenever it's chore time. And for extra hand softness, apply hand cream before you put on the rubber gloves.
3. Trim your toenails straight across to avoid ingrown toenails. This is particularly important if you have diabetes.
4. Dry your hands for at least two minutes after doing the dishes, taking a bath/shower, etc. Also dry your toes thoroughly after swimming or showering. Leaving them damp increases your risk of fungal infection.
5. Air out your work boots and athletic shoes. Better yet, keep two pairs and switch between them so you're never putting your feet into damp, sweaty shoes, which could lead to fungal infections.
6. Wear 100 percent cotton socks. They're best for absorbing dampness, thus preventing fungal infections.
7. Add a glass of milk and a hard-boiled egg to your daily diet. Rich in zinc, they'll do wonders for your nails, especially if your nails are spotted with white, a sign of low zinc intake.
8. File your nails correctly. To keep your nails at their strongest, avoid filing in a back-and-forth motion - only go in one direction. And never file just after you've gotten out of a shower or bath — wet nails break more easily.
9. Massage your nails to keep them extra strong and shiny. Nails buffing increases blood supply to the nail, which stimulates the matrix of the nail to grow.
10. Polish your nails, even if it's just with a clear coat, it protects your nails. If you prefer color, use a base coat, two thin coats of color, and a top coat. Color should last at least seven days but should be removed after 10 days.

Wear some thin socks underneath. This will help prevent your feet from rubbing against the leather or on the material of the shoes.
Buy shoes with soft inner soles.
Wear high heels only when you don't have to walk a lot or perform energetic activities. Don't even consider cycling to and from work in them - that is asking for trouble even though you may have seem some foolhardy enough to try.
Wear high heels for special occasions. Times that are more suitable for high heels include activities such as birthday parties, visiting night clubs (although this depends on how much dancing you do and how comfortable you are in high heels), graduation parties, church etc.
Don't step toe first or place your heels and toes on the ground at the same time.
Walk the same way your would with flats - with each step you take, place your heel on the ground first, and then the ball of your foot/toes.
